What is Slippage?
Updated over a year ago

Slippage refers to the discrepancy between the anticipated price of a trade and the price at which the trade is executed.

Slippage can occur at any time but is more common during periods of higher volatility when market orders are used.

It can also happen when executing a sizable order, but there is not enough volume at the selected price to maintain the current spread.
